Why haven't my own mole traps worked?

Many DIY mole traps fail because they're poorly made or incorrectly positioned. Successful mole trapping isn't simply about placing a trap in the nearest molehill—it's about identifying the correct tunnel and ensuring the trap is set sensitively and accurately.

Does flattening molehills get rid of moles?

No.

Flattening molehills doesn't remove the mole. In most cases, it simply causes the mole to push more soil back to the surface, often leaving homeowners even more frustrated.

I've tried trapping them myself. Why didn't it work?

Moles will often reuse established tunnel systems, which is why understanding previous activity and recognising the main runs can be just as important as identifying fresh molehills.
